Jeffrey James Weise (August 8, 1988 – March 21, 2005) (AKA Regret) was a Flash artist who created two violent flash movies titled, “Clown” and “Target Practice”. He committed a school shooting on March 21, 2005 and committed suicide soon after the shooting.
Jeffrey had submitted two disturbing flashes which were ignored by the public at the time before the shooting. Whilst some might have hoped or expected that Newgrounds would remove the two movies, it was decided to keep them- according to the note placed on the movies this was for "public record". Indeed, "Target Practice" was sent to front page after the shooting and the reason given was to make it easier for people to find it at that time because there was a lot of load on the server due to people searching for it.
The “Target Practice” flash showed a man shooting several people and then himself into the mouth.
Clown EditClown has a short and simple, yet disturbing plot. It starts with the Clown standing on the side-walk at night, when a teenager in a hooded jacket walks up to the Clown. The screen starts to shake as the Clown transforms into a monster, and proceeds to kill and devour the teenager, as the screen goes black and ends with the words, "Have a Happy Halloween". A hidden image is found in the animation of the teenager seen eaten by the clown near the end, which speeds too quickly for the normal human eye to catch.
The song in the animation is EVANESCENCE - Even In Death, which fits well with the creepy plot.
School Shooting Edit
On March 21, 2005, in Red Lake high school, Minnesota, Weise killed a total of nine people before shooting himself. These included his grandfather, his grandfather's girlfriend, a security guard, five other students, and a teacher, while injuring at least fifteen other people.
He used two handguns, a shotgun and a bullet proof vest he stole off the security guard he killed earlier which were recovered by the police in the aftermath of the shooting.
