I miss you Daddy is a flash movie by Philljc. It tells the serious story of a girl who visits her father's grave a year after the 9/11 attacks .
I miss you Daddy quickly establishes that the girl's father died during the 9/11 attacks, but those attacks aren't focused upon. Instead, the movie focuses on the last year of the girl's life, as she grew up having lost a loved one. During this time, the girl grew a lot, learning to swim, going to Kindergarten, and learning to swing by herself. However, she never forgot about him, and was always comparing her experiences to times she spent with him. She admits that she is sad, but seems optimistic, knowing that her Daddy is in heaven, and she might be able to see him again. The girl might not fully understand what has happened, and is still suffering, but she is strong.
I miss you Daddy uses a fairly realistic, but never too complicated, style. Even when other people appear, the girl's face is the only one fully visible, emphasizing how this story is about her. In the background, the DJ Sammy remix of Heaven plays. "I'll Stand By You" by The Pretenders plays during the credits. The voice actor, who sounds like a young girl, is unknown.
Released three years after the infamous attacks, I miss you Daddy is one of the best received 9/11 related movies on Newgrounds. As of march 2016 it has over 450,000,000 views and an average review of 9.4/10. In addition to winning the Daily Third and Weekly Fifth awards, it is featured in three collections: Serious Shorts, 9/11, and Flash Portal History. In the 9/11 collection, it is at the very top of the list, due to its high ratings.
